AC&C Emergency Rescue Dispatch
Emergency Rescue of cats in New York City is handled by
Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C). AC&C
is not the ASPCA.
Effective November 1, 2010, AC&C's field services were reduced to Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. AC&C will no longer do field pick-ups of cats unless the cats are injured or involved in a bite incident, and they will no longer offer field services pick-ups on the weekend except in the event of an emergency. In such a case, please call 311.
You can bring stray or injured cats to any of the AC&C care centers between 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m., seven days a week, except holidays.
There are three AC&C care centers in New York City:
Manhattan Animal Care Center
326 East 110th Street
Brooklyn Animal Care Center
2336 Linden Boulevard
Staten Island Animal Care Center
3139 Veterans Road West
If you want to adopt or foster the cat after it has been rescued and treated by an AC&C veterinarian, please advise the Rescue Driver at the time of pick-up and get the pick-up report number from the driver, or advise AC&C shelter staff when you take the cat to the shelter.
