Home > Volunteer to Help Feral Cats Volunteer to Help Feral Cats Help Street Cats in Your Neighborhood Take the first step to helping feral cats in your community by attending a TNR Caretaker Training Workshop. Once you have completed a TNR Caretaker Training Workshop and have a significant amount of hands-on experience with mass-trapping on TNR projects, you can become a TNR Coach and receive a stipend for helping others with their TNR projects and feral cat colony trapping needs. To apply to be a TNR Coach, please send an e-mail with your complete name, and the borough(s) in which you are available to work to TNRCoach@NYCFeralCat.org. You have the power to save a life by fostering a cat or kitten in your home until a permanent home can be found. If you are interested in fostering a cat or kitten, please e-mail us at foster@NYCFeralCat.org. Socialize (Tame) Feral Kittens Kittens born to street cats, whether the mother is feral or domestic (friendly), are wild and need to be socialized (tamed) in order to be suitable for adoption. The process of socializing feral kittens requires a daily commitment of time over several weeks or months. If you are interested in socializing a litter of feral kittens, please e-mail your name, phone number, and borough to kittens@NYCFeralCat.org.
